Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Guide will meet you at your hotel and go for Sightseeing and drop in the hotel after tour

Patan Durbar Square: Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley, on the southern side of the Bagmati River, Patan is one of the three royal cities in the valley. A paradise of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments.

Swoyambhunath Temple: This Buddhist Stupa, said to be 2000 years old is a perfect architecture of gilded spire and white washed dome located under thousands of fluttering prayer flags.

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath, a pagoda style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered to be the powerhouse of Hindu spiritual power in religious terms.

Boudhnath Stupa: This enormous stupa is where thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower. This is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan Buddhist culture is accessible.

Day 02: Guided Sightseeing in Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changunarayan Temple

Bhaktapur City: As that of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, this is the third medieval city-states in Kathmandu Valley which is home of medieval art and architecture. Located 14 kms east of Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th Century.  Bhaktapur has three major squares full of towering  array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bupatindra Malla. The Nyatapola Temple, also built by King Bhupatindra Malla, is the best example of Pagoda style and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures – two famous strong men, two elephants, two lions, two griffins and two goddesses.

Changunarayan Temple: Situated on a ridge overlooking the Valley, about 12 km to the east of Kathmandu. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Bishnu. One of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture built in 323 AD by King Hari Dutta Varma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings, and its position above the Kathmandu Valley affords a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.

Day 03: Explore Kathmandu [Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour - optional]

Garden of Dreams, Narayanhiti and Kathmandu Durbar Square
Today Tour Guide will meet you in your hotel and walk to Garden of Dreams which is quiet beautiful garden of Royal family in 1920 AD. Just few minute walk from Garden is the Narayanhiti Palace, the last palace of Kings of Nepal which is a museum now. From the palace we walk through the old market area of Kathmandu selling everything from spices to dry fish, fruits and sweets. 20 minutes walk takes us to the Kathmandu Durbar Square, one of the three royal palaces in Kathmandu Valley and the royal residence of Kings of Nepal until the 19th century where important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch use to take place. Finally walk to your hotel through the touristy areas selling trekking gears, souvenirs and everything and anything that a tourist might want to buy.

I have to thank Maina for showing me around in Kathmandu for three days while I was there in February. Without her I don’t think I can travel around Kathmandu so efficiently and see so many things in a few days. Maina is very knowledgeable of the historical sites and she takes good care of her guest. I am so glad I have made this trip and I wish Maina all her best. I highly recommend her tours for anyone considering a better understanding of this fantastic country Nepal.

This guiding was perfect! Our guide and host ; Maina, was the loveliest person ever! The culture, history and architecture of the old parts of Kathmandu is what you can get her, for a good price and in good English as well! I would definitely recommend this, and live with Maina again! Thank You!
