Muktinath, Nepal, is the popular Vishnu temple located at the first highest altitude in the world is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists located in Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, 

Within Hinduism, it is called Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of liberation or moksh". This temple is considered to be 106th among the available 108 Divya Desam (premium temples) considered sacred by the Sri Vaishnava sect. 


The central shrine of Sri Muktinath is considered by Hindu Vaishnavas to be one of the eight most-sacred shrines, known as Svayam Vyakta Ksetras; the other seven being Srirangam, Srimushnam, Tirupati, Naimisharanya, Thotadri, Pushkar and Badrinath. The temple is very small. Muktinath is one of the most ancient Hindu temples of God Vishnu. The murti is of gold and is tall enough to compare with[clarification needed] a man. The prakaram (outer courtyard) has 108 bull faces through which water is poured. The sacred water that flows in 108 pipes around the temple complex denotes all the sacred Pushkarini waters (Temple Tanks) from all the 108 Sri Vaishnava Divya Desams, where the devotees take their sacred bath even in freezing temperatures.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our office will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02: Visit Pashupatinath, Changunarayan Temples and Bhaktapur City 
Early morning: MOUNTAIN FLIGHT [optional]
Early morning you are transferred to the airport to board the mountain flight (OPTIONAL). The approximate one-hour mountain flight takes you close to some of the highest peaks in the world including Mount Everest. One can clearly see and identify the peaks, and see the Himalayan landscape and glaciers during the flight. Drive back to hotel for breakfast

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath, a pagoda style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered to be the powerhouse of Hindu spiritual power in religious terms. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is 6 kms from Kathmandu city and just a few hundred meters from the end of the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main temple, but you can view the temple from the east bank of River Bagmati. 

Changu Narayan Temple (World Heritage Site)
Situated on a ridge overlooking the Valley, about 12 km to the east of Kathmandu. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Bishnu. One of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture built in 323 AD by King Hari Dutta Varma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings, and its position above the Kathmandu Valley affords a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)
As that of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, this is the third medieval city-states in Kathmandu Valley which is home of medieval art and architecture. Located 14 kms east of Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th Century. Bhaktapur has three major squares full of towering array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bupatindra Malla. The Nyatapola Temple, also built by King Bhupatindra Malla, is the best example of Pagoda style and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures - two famous strong men, two elephants, two lions, two griffins and two goddesses.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (827m/2689ft): 5-6 hours; on the way visit Manakamana Temple
We have breakfast then leave for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City due to the large number of lakes in the city. On the way we will stop at cable car station and visit Manakaman Temple by cable car, after worshipping in the temple of wish fulfilling goddess we ride cable car back to the the cable car station and have lunch and continue drive to Pokhara.

Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,794ft), Manaslu (8,156m/26,759ft), Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943ft), the five peaks of Annapurna and others. We then check-in to our hotel and take a rest. We enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake and stroll in the city’s quaint streets.

Day 04: Fly to Jomsom (2,700m/8898ft) and drive to Muktinath
Today we will take an early morning flight to Jomsom which is famous for its apples, strong winds and the landscape.

Up on arrival at Jomsom, stop for short tea/coffee break and drive by jeep to Muktinath, afternoon visit Muktinath Temple stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 05: Muktinath to Jomsom
Pick up Place – Follow your guide to walk up to jeep stand after breakfast and drive back to Jomsom
Today’s activities-  Up on arrival at Jomsom walk up to the hotel, have a lunch and afternoon take time to walk Jomsom market or visit eco museum and stay overnight there at lodge.

Day 06: Fly Jomsosm to Pokhara/ Vindyabasini and Taal barahi

We pick you from domestic airport in Pokhara and drop to your hotel. After you have your breakfast we will go to the two famous temples in Pokhara. We ride a boat in Phewa Lake to visit Taal Barahi Temple

Day 07: Drive to Kathmandu and drop to your hotel
We spend our last evening in Kathmandu in a farewell meal together sharing photos recalling the excitements of trip and exchanging emails  in one of the traditional Nepalese restaurant.

Best Season

Autumn (Sept. to Dec.) and spring (March to May) is the best season when the sub-tropical weather is at its best. But you can visit any time of the year except for the rainy months of June, July and August.



Your safety is our most important concern while traveling with Eve Holidays.  Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary but your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns, without any pre consultation with clients. We provide a star hotel accommodation for the entire trip on a twin sharing basis. The hotels offer the facilities of attached bathrooms with hot shower, dining place, a bar and internet service. You can upgrade the accommodation to a five-star hotel or can have a single supplement for the entire trip for an additional charge.


All the restaurants that we dine at cater for Continental, Chinese, Mexican, American based cuisine with some local influences, always plenty to choose from.

You can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at International Airport in Kathmandu. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos with accurate USD for visa fee.

Weather depends on the season you are travelling. During the winter months of December, January and February it is cold at night and relatively warm during the daytime, with the temperature ranging from 4°C at night to 22°C. During the summer months of March, April and May, the weather stays prefect as the temperature averages 27°C during the day. From September to December, following the monsoon, the temperature gets cooler and allows for a great time to travel. The average temperature during this season is 20°C.

Means of Transportation

We use private tourist vehicles for sightseeing in Kathmandu and all land transportation. Depending on the group size we use cars, minibus, vans or alternatively 4WD SUVs. For Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight we use domestic airlines. 


No vaccinations are compulsory in Nepal, but we do recommend you are covered for Diphtheria, TB, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, Typhoid, Polio and Tetanus. We also do recommend for a dental check-up prior to travelling and you should know your blood group in case of emergency in your travel.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions which might affect you on your tour, you need to inform us.


Insurance Coverage

One MUST have travel insurance policy to join any of Eve Holidays trips. You must be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs and theft and loss). We don't arrange or sell insurance.
