Pashupatinath to Muktinath Tour with Flights

Pashupatinath in Kathmandu and Muktinath at 3,800 meters at the foot of the Thorung La Pass in Mustang region, both the pagoda style temples, hold top religious importance for Hindus. Muktinath is very important to Buddists as well as the Tibetan Buddhist tradition states that Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, had meditated at Muktinath on his way to Tibet. Hindus believe that lord Vishnu got salvation from curse of Brinda (wife of Jalandhar) at Muktinath. Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu also holds historical importance. It was built in the 5th century and later renovated by Malla kings, the site itself is said to have existed from the beginning of the millennium when a Shiva lingam was discovered here.

Early morning you are transferred to the airport to board the mountain flight. The approximate one-hour mountain flight takes you close to some of the highest peaks in the world including Mount Everest. One can clearly see and identify the peaks, and see the Himalayan landscape and glaciers during the flight. Drive back to hotel for breakfast

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath, a pagoda style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered to be the powerhouse of Hindu spiritual power in religious terms. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is 6 kms from Kathmandu city and just a few hundred meters from the end of the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main temple, but you can view the temple from the east bank of River Bagmati. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds.

Patan Durbar Square: Like its counterpart in Kathmandu, is an enchanting combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the centre of Patan's religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone.

BoudhnathStupa: Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, this enormous stupa where thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower. This is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan Buddhist culture is accessible and unfetered, and the lanes around the stupa are crammed with monasteries and the surrounding is a paraphernalia for Buddhist life.
