Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is 6 kms from Kathmandu city and just a few hundred meters from the end of the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main temple, but you can view the temple from the east bank of River Bagmati. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds.

BoudhnathStupa: Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, this enormous stupa where thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower. This is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan Buddhist culture is accessible and unfetered, and the lanes around the stupa are crammed with monasteries and the surrounding is a paraphernalia for Buddhist life.

Bhaktapur City: As that of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, this is the third medieval city-states in Kathmandu Valley which is home of medieval art and architecture. Located 14 kms east of Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th Century. Bhaktapur has three major squares full of towering array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bupatindra Malla. The Nyatapola Temple, also built by King BhupatindraMalla, is the best example of Pagoda style and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures - two famous strong men, two elephants, two lions, two griffins and two goddesses.

The most important temple at Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple, which enshrines the traditional site of the Buddha's birth. The modern temple consists mainly of simple white building that protects ancient ruins, with the exact spot of the Buddha's birth. On the south side of the temple is a sacred pool, where it is said Maya Devi bathed before giving birth, and where the new born Buddha was washed by two dragons. The Maya Devi temple is surrounded by the brick foundations of ancient temples and monasteries. All around Lumbini, long lines of colorful prayer flags are strung between trees which are believed to carry prayers and mantras heavenward as they flap on the breeze. Due to its proximity to the Annapurna mountain range the city is also a base for trekkers undertaking many short or long treks. The serene of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them makes Pokhara an ambience of peace and magic. In the evening you can relax walking around the beautiful lakeside.

Early in the morning around 4.30am we drive for 20 minutes to Sarangkot Hill, a hill in the north-west region of Pokhara that overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the north and the main city in the south. On the way back we visit

Bindhyabasini Temple: Bindyabasini Temple is one of the oldest temple in Pokhara and is considered as the protector Goddess of Pokhara. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. The temple was said to have been built in 18th century by King Prithvi Narayan Shah. The temple observes animal sacrifices and wedding ceremonies on Saturdays.

Davi's fall: Locally known as PataleChhango is an awesome waterfall lying about 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport on the highway to Tansen. The water that feeds the Davi’s Fall comes from the Phewa Lake, which follows a rocky stream to eventually rush down the waterfall and disappear. The passages that run under the ground are connected to the hole below the waterfall. The best time to view this spectacular sight is during the monsoon season when there is a high rainfall and the summer season. An interesting modern legend says that a foreigner named David was dipping in the Pardi Khola (river) when the floodgates of the dam were opened, sweeping him into an underground passage beneath the fall, never to be seen again.

Gupteswar Cave: Gupteswar Cave is a sacred cave, lies 2 km from Pokhara airport. The entrance is right across from Davi's fall and the cave is almost 3 km long. It has some big hall-size rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all fours. This cave holds special value for Hindus since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition it was discovered.

International Mountain Museum: An informative museum in Pokhara that explains different mountains, people of Nepal and other information about Nepal

Phewa Lake is a semi natural freshwater lake at an altitude of 742m located in the south of the Pokhara. The Annapurna range on the north is only about 28 km (linear distance) away from the lake, and the lake is famous for the reflection of mount Machhapuchhre and other mountain peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on its surface. The Barahi Temple is situated on an island in the lake and thick forest lies on the adjoining southern slopes of the lake.
